Feathers and Fins Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 its fuzz put on them to make them look more realistic in simple terms... I said it a million times Fishing Lures and Decoys are designed to catch fishermen and hunters if a bird can tell the name brand on my decoys I better be Shooting it or limited. ps or drinking coffee https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Boobie Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Along with the snow goose decoys i purchased a few tears back, the dakotas are paid off and they will get used big time. They did come with 12 slot bags to protect them. It wont be long and i will see if they make a difference. Who knows. Friends were out today and saw lots of ducks coming down the mighty mississippi. Birdwatcher, love your interests!!!!!FUNNY.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Boobie I use to use over sized socks stretch out to protect them even in the bags. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

BilletHead Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I hear yousitting in a bow stand right now hearing specklebellies. BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" BilletHead " One thing in life is for sure. If you are careful you can straddle the barbed wire fence but make one mistake and you will be hurting" BilletHead P.S. "May your fences be short or hope you have long legs" BilletHead
tho1mas Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 If you feel you need more decoys, buy some cheap ones on craigslist & paint them. Even Wal- Mart can mix the colors & there is a lot of info on the procedure on the net. Good luck - have fun.

I've been wanting to try it for years, but this year I think I've found a couple of guys willing to drag a newbie along this season. Hopefully that all pans out. Also hoping to do a bit of jump shooting on some local ponds this year too.

JohnP Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Great information all around. I used to be the guy that thought you had to have the big spread 10 to 12 dozen dekes (and more if a buddy brought his) and 3 plus mojos to pull birds, especially at the Duckland waterfowl parks but after a few years of throwing and picking up that many I down sized drastically. I only own 35 or so, 22 mallards (different head positions), a dozen gwt, and a few gaddies. Oh and a couple pink flamingos ;). All Texas rigged with about four ft of clear blue weed eater line and bell sinkers that I found at a garage sale. The teal are actually weighted with chain links ;). Also keep a Jerk line in the bag that I half hitch a few of the dekes to attached a bungee cord anchored to a pole when there's no wind or current. I don't build permanent blinds just use wat's available where I'm hunting mainly because i never know where the water levels will be each year but also like to be mobile. Have taken several bird just sitting on a bucket next to a tree or in the weeds. Concealment is good but movement is key, birds working, don't move. You can read all the comments and do all reaserch and apply everything you've learned and the birds will do the exact opposite. Best way to get into it and learn is just to get out there. Keep an open mind and have fun. ness, Nathan Shaw and BilletHead 3
