Tanderson15 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Better day today. 3 walleyes one 171/2, one 19, and one 211/2. Catfish were all over. Caught 18 to 20. One fish I hooked peeled have my line off the reel. I could not stop him had to follow in the boat. It went into 70" of water right into the trees. Anyway 15 min of fun. I think it was just a very big cat. Also caught a 3 to 4 pound LM. All caught in 34 to 36 ft of water, BB with crawlers, gold spinners going .8 to 1.2 mph
J-Doc Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I am sure glad all my catfish found someone new to play with. I seem to be cursed by catfish because that is all I have been catching the last few weeks. Needless to say the catfish bite is super hot right now. What water temps did you see? I will be out there Thursday. If you see me say hi :-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Feathers and Fins Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Nice going Terry, leave docs catfish alone though https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Jerry Rapp Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 what is wrong with catfish? They eat very good.
J-Doc Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 They don't taste nearly as good as crappie, striper or walleye. To my taste buds anyway. When you're fishing for other species and a 15lb blue cat breaks your brand new Flicker Minnow, you learn to get disgruntled quickly. Lol Need marine repair? J-Doc Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Nice going Terry, leave docs catfish alone thoughJust wait. I'm going to put catfish guts in your boat. Lol. Tanderson15 Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Nothing wrong with catfish. Went to catfish house last Friday. Just don't want to catch them since I don't know how to prepare them. They also roll in your line and leave slim on it, slim in a the net and in the boat. If not big I never use a net and never let them in the boat.
J-Doc Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Same here. I'm a slime free boater myself. And I don't want a slime trail on my baits. I can prepare them, I just chose not too.
