We didn't make it on the water until after daylight. Some clouds and wind helped a bit, but the clouds blew out just past noon. Thirty mostly LM. Some spots. Seven keeps. Best five was probably 10lbs, Champ said. Shallow bite for the most part. Tried to force a jig on them but ended up winding most of the day. Did find one or two jig fish on docks late in the afternoon. Out of the water at 3:30 p.m. Fair amount of bass boats running around but not too crowded. Other than that only saw a couple of pontoons and one big boat all day. Champ can fill in the details. I might give away his secret bait. ;)

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a fun day on the Rock. Let's hear about Champ's secret bait!

No secret. War Eagle spinnerbait from can til can't for me. White/chartreuse 3/8-ounce bait in dingy water; lavender shad 1/4-ounce bait in the clearer water. Chased the wind and the shade and tried to stay on banks with the right rock content/slope. Clue: It's not bluffs. River fishing 101. Had one rod on the deck most of the day. Love it like that. Donna pitched in with a crank bait and jig.

Good day on the water. Looking at the pic of the one rod on the deck made me ask myself several questions. Why do you always have 8 to 12 rods on the deck at all times? I have tons of rod storage below my deck, is it just too difficult to have to put one away and open the deck lid and get another one? Go figure.

I had a nice keeper follow my War Eagle spinnerbait all the way to the boat. I was burning it back to the boat to cast again and he played with it right in front of the trolling motor. I couldn't get him to bite it. He just wanted to follow and watch.

This was on Beaver Lake and not Table Rock no d you but the pattern is similar. Beavers bait population is insane and making it a tough bite. I watched fish snack on my graph for hours. Come up, grab a minnow, go back down. They are following the bait and eating when they want. Spinnerbait and crankbaits worked very erratically and quickly are what's getting the bite as of yesterday.

Darn fish only support local business too and only want a War Eagle. Lol. It's all I fish now.

Even with the wide front deck of a Ranger, I never have more than 3 rods out. I've stepped on too many guides or reel handles and just am not comfortable with all of that clutter up there. When they are chomping a blade and I have it narrowed down to the one they want, I'll put everything else up and enjoy my clutter-free environment. :)

I can't get the deck less than 3 rods. Always have to have something top , a jig plus whatever.

You used to didn't need so many rods before Babler banned you from the river. Now you're stuck down there in the "Wide World of Where the Hell Are They" and you gotta be prepared for just about anything. :XD:
