This matches what the pros found earlier this year at the Bassmaster event. That's a lot of 14" class fish. Can't be for lack of forage either. Beaver has the same problem. Tons of fish all about the same size and currently there are millions of minnows roaming open water.

Shad flock to the creek arms of every highland reservoir in the fall. Always have.

They are in open water and some are in creeks currently. They are everywhere. Crazy thick.

Yes, eventually they will be in the backs or at the mouths of creeks. I've seen both in 60 degree water.

Great stuff Phil! What one thing did you learn from this report. For me, it was the lack of big LM in the James River. The report made me feel a little better about my fishing skills. I lived jn KC for many years and fished mostly from Baxter to the Dam and for me to catch quality Bass, I still have to return to those waters. I wish they would have included whitebass in their report, as they have really eluded me this year.
