stlfisher Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Jeez we tried our best to lose that one, but Wong comes up huge again! Better odds on Rosenthal throwing strikes or Maty Mauk completing a pass?
moguy1973 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I agree...Neshek comes in for the 8th and makes all three batters just look plain silly without overpowering them. He really should be the Cardinals closer and leave Rosenthal out. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Quillback Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Didn't see the game, but glad to see the Birds won.
tho1mas Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I think Rosenthal has caught coach Matheny doing something to a farm animal! Why keep repeating the same poor choice?
stlfisher Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 If Waino was healthy I'd say go Wacha, Martinez, and Neshak as the big three in late innings, but Wainwright's sore arm keeps Wacha as the long man. I am not sure we have anyone else we could trust in the 7th unless Matheny goes with Marco Gonzalez, and that leave us with one lefty in the bullpen. I think Yadi's injury is probably a season ender so I wonder if they replace him on the roster with a pitcher....maybe a another lefty such as Freeman to free up Gonzalez for the 7th. Unfortunately, if we do that this series then by rule Yadi cannot play in he next series if we advance...even if healthy.
moguy1973 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Yep. Strained his left oblique muscle. That's a horribly painful injury and doesn't usually heal quickly. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
moguy1973 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Cards look good in games 3 and 4. The Giants 3 and 4 starters aren't that great. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 13, 2014 Root Admin Posted October 13, 2014 Did anyone else have the feeling last night, even at 2-0, the Cards looked hesitant and played like they were still trying to catch up. They need a little of the No Fear the Royals are showing. Loosen up and have fun. I think the Royals are going to win it all... unless they hit a brick wall and the life goes out of 'em.
