Atta Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Havent been on the rock in a few months. last time out i had a pretty good day. looking to repeat that. gonna be puttin in around the state park and heading north/west to hit a few coves. anyone know how the bite has been in the dam area this week. keep seeing reports of tough fishing.
Members rogerdodger Posted October 25, 2014 Members Posted October 25, 2014 Been rough. My only consistent play has been to fish windy coves with a Ned. If you're not a nedaholic the wind may give ya fits. 1/16 only, they didn't like the fall on the simpler to use 1/8 oz.
duckydoty Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I caught 3 small mouth in about an hour with only one being a short playing around with the new side imaging graph. Caught them trolling a number 5 flicker shad about 2.1 miles per hour in 17 to 50 feet of water. Like I said, I was just playing around reading and tuning in the graph and decided I might as well have a line out too. All three were caught in that area skipping across main points. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
jolicious Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Umbrella rig tonight for an hour out of moonshine yielded an 18" smallie
Atta Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 Tough!! I'm a power fisher so 5 fish sounds like a great day ! Maybe I can get some good reaction bites. I hear the bait is crazy thick right now. Good luck to those fishing today!!!
Champ188 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Probably a little late to help but I'm sure you could wrangle a few of those smallmouth on a fb jig or hula grub on those main-lake points.

Couple of cold nights the last month or so could have zapped the starting battery? Hope it's not too serious. Been there, done that more times that one man should deal with motor issues recently. Have been relegated to just launching anyways and using the troller around the lauch vicinity quite a few times.
