fishinwrench Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Is that tied on top of the hook shank, like a SJW? No, both styles are wrapped. The one with marabou tail is just wrapped down the marabou stem (Google: Shannon Streamer). The other is a looped and "furled" extension. There are two types of yarn there. The raggy looking stuff is something my wife came up with when I sent her searching for Baby blanket yarn. The other tighter looking stuff is more like the chenille we are accustom to..
DaddyO Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Got it! Thanks, Wrench. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
Kayser Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Hey Wrench- how do you tie those things? Furled, braided, knotted, or just wrapped on thread extended body? WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Gavin Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Just tie the marabou on, then the chenille in at the hook eye. Tight concentric wraps back past the bend to the stop point then wrap forward the same way. Tie off at the eye. Takes less than a Minute.
