J-Doc Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I used to attribute it to "just ski/wake boats". Now I attribute it to human nature and how we as a society have allowed people in general to "get their way". The loudest voice typically get what they want. The obnoxious typically get away with being obnoxious. The morons......well they will continue to be morons. The aggressive will rule while the passive will sit back and watch it happen. Then post their dislike for it on Facebook. Lol! Ok that's really sad and not funny. So.....the aggressive folks will flip you off because you raised your arms (a sign of frustration and anger) and will retaliate with the universal symbol. They know not nor care not what provoked the arms raising. They are not concerned with your well being or satisfaction . Only their own. Human nature and society today have become all about "me" and what makes "me" happy. Not you and your well being. And the passive will let it happen. It's human nature. So next time something like that happens, smile and wave. Because it's all about them, not you. :-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
J-Doc Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 And I add that I've heard as of recent some really stupid things from folks in sail boats, personally witnessed stupidity in pontoon boats and bass boats this weekend. So it's not just the wakers anymore. It's everyone. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. fishinwrench Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 There's a fleet of WP boats just sitting in dock slips at strategic locations and the officers who can operate them are just waiting for an excuse to leave the dock. So Call Them ! Report every illegal, immoral, or potentially threatening thing you see. Hell, even report things you THOUGHT you saw. For gods sake don't hesitate to give those guys something useful to do besides needlessly dragging a bunch of folks into lawyers offices and courtrooms over perfectly manageable beer buzz's! I monitor the scanner all the time, and they go hours (days sometimes) without a single complaint or report of suspicious activity, so they NEED to hear from you. It helps to justify their existence. By dog, if you're out there and you ain't smiling for whatever reason....then you should Call Them.

Only thing I can add is that I'm happy to report the dumbassery was evenly distributed throughout the lake Sunday. Donna and I fished from Sweetwater up iin the KIngs down to Shell Knob bridge and it was a zoo.

J-Doc Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 The need for politically correct making anyone and everyone happy no matter what is what's killing it. Need marine repair? Champ188 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 The need for politically correct making anyone and everyone happy no matter what is what's killing it. Couldn't be more right, J-Doc. It's like expressing an opinion about something, and after being diligent to emphasize that it's only an opinion, still being labeled a hater just because you happen to feel differently about something than another person. Happens right here on this forum.
merc1997 Bo Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 this thread is very good reason that there needs to be a very stringent boat operators test. there are way too many boaters on the water now to have anyone that is not as skilled and knowledgeable as anyone operating a vehicle on the highway. and even then, one that can operate a boat safely is not always safe on an unfamiliar body of water. when i go to a new body of water that i know nothing about, i spend a good amount of time idling around to get to know where it is safe to be on plane. as i have stated many times, most people on table rock do not know what they are running over, and i know this will hurt the water patrol's feelings, but several of their officers do not really know the lake either. you just really need to be cautious out there now, and be driving the boat not gawking when underway on busy traffic days. bo
rps Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I gave up my dual threat river boat (Supreme 20") because it kept getting swamped. I do not like it, but I finally admitted I cannot fix stupid.
Champ188 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Nope, and can't fix DGAS either. These days, I think that may account for as much of it as anything.
