Chris King Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 The frame shop in Branson West has some cool prints of the bridge from before the lake filled. The wife won't let me get one for the house, but I would still love to have one.

Dang -- I skimmed a few of those stories, and what a treasure! Thanks for sharing the link. John
lee G. Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Thanks Matt, thats a great read, I'll spend a lot of time there!
5bites Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I also read and read today. I didn't even get to the local stuff really. Most of it was the war stories. So fascinating!!! You don't learn this stuff in school.
J-Doc Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 The one about the lady picking up her husband's brains after the Union soldiers murdered him in cold blood. Man that is just sad and terrible. I can only imagine some of the many many travesties of that time I'm out history and none hit home until you read about a true event. I know there were needless killings on both sides and not within a "battle". My Grandfather used to tell me stories about my great great grandfather who fought in the war. Lots of sadness, death, and near death experiences. This is an excellent find on the bridge and the added serving on the side of tales of woe and history was just icing on the cake. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
