Feathers and Fins Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Ok I have been on this pattern for a week now, Bottom depth is 25ft with them suspending in 22 to 17ft and bait fish suspended in 15 to 10ft. Working a white War Eagle 7/8th oz spoon at 18 to 16ft around the bait has been producing some very nice fish. This is not a 20 or 30 fish type bite my average is about 7fish per trip 6 to 9 hours average trip time. But the fish are going from 16 to 22 inches. Here are a Pair from today 17'' 22 '' https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Champ188 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Good ones, Scott. Now get back to the business of thinning out those stripers.
Members Turdworm Posted November 7, 2014 Members Posted November 7, 2014 Fin, I appreciate your knowledge of Beaver Lake. I think you are a good fisherman, but..... This is what a 22 inch Beaver lake bass looks like. Here is my own educational tool I use from time to time. Just a quick reference on the use of a golden rule, lots of us guys struggle with measurements, myself included, just ask my wife. Lastly and just for fun is a side by side of the 17 and 22 inch bass. Their markings are similar, brothers perhaps??? Or that was one greedy little devil that ate so much he grew 5 inches in a day. OK OK, that was just for fun. Everybody simmer down and have a good Friday.
Feathers and Fins Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Turd the fish was put on a Golden Rule and hit 22 with me holding the bottom lip on the upturn of the ruler. I posted the picture with the ruler in it for that reason so people could see it was a legitimate fish because bass anglers like to say a fish isn't as big as the angler may say. Your fish is nice for certain but 22'' on a ruler doesn't lie and neither do I. Oh well 1st post to the board by you so welcome. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 14, 2014 Root Admin Posted November 14, 2014 I did a little photoshopping of my own. I drew 4 5-inch lines using the ruler to get the measurements. 20 inches. I extended the blue line to account for pinching the tail. If you're going to get that picky about calling a 22-inch bass short, I'd think missing it my may be one inch is a little extreme. If you're going to go to all the trouble of photoshopping someone's pic to show they're fibbing on the size of a fish, do it right.
