Members KCfisher Posted November 14, 2014 Members Posted November 14, 2014 Dear Elk River experts, I'm a catch n release fly fisherman from KC. I'm going to be down at Grand Lake this weekend and would like to do a quick scout trip to the Elk, a river I've been wanting to fish for a couple of summers. I won't be floating this weekend and wondered if anyone could share a couple of good walk in access points for me to get a sense of the river. Definitely not asking for anyone's honey holes. Thank you for any help.
Amery Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Mnt shira, down stream. I'm sure all the fish are in winter holes.
Chief Grey Bear Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 For a 6-pack, I'll show you every one of them on the entire river. Chief Grey Bear Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Which all kidding aside, lets do that this coming year. It'll have to be in the spring though. Plus ain't we supposed to make Wheatie drive us down to the Lawton area and hit some water??? I'm in for whatever but I still like that trip to the mountains of Oklahoma idea. And please pass the Fireball. I like that stuff!
Chief Grey Bear Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Its a date. To do it right, it should take us 2 days to do a 6 mile section. But we'll try to get it in one. Flysmallie Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 But we'll try to get it in one. No reason to hurry. I like campfires.
