Sprint21fter Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Fished out of Big Indian from 7-3 and was expecting a fun filled wet day of catching bass. It turned out to be a tough working day on the rock for me. Started out slinging a blade on small points at the mouth of Big Indian that mixed with some big busted rock and should have caught 3 keepers in the first hour. But ended up with two and had a nice 4lber at the boat and decided to try and flip it into the boat and got it half-way out of the water before the hook pulled out. At that time the wind was blowing really good and hit other points for the next 1 hour and caught 5 just under 15 inch blacks. Just as Skunkworks was talking about the bite was very shallow and after a few feet of being away from the bank might was well burn the sucker back. Once the rain set in the wind was very hit and miss and I picked up a wart after that and had two other keeper bites come off at the boat. I didn't get a bite on any mainlake banks they were at the mouths of creeks and secondary points. Nothing in the back of anything.
Champ188 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Definitely one of those strange days that figured to be a lot better than it was.
merc1997 Bo Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 sure seems that one should be rewarded better to brave the rain. the bass just seem to be scattered at a big range of depths. nice to hear of having a 4 lber. on. green critters that size seem scarce anymore. bo
Sprint21fter Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 I have been fortunate this past several months to run into a 4lber and have a chance to get it in every time but sometimes I get excited and pull the hooks out. As crazy as this past year has been there are a bunch of fish shallow and there are some big one roaming around trying to feed before they pull out. They are on specific locations and are ultra shallow. Hence only using a blade, buzz bait, or small square bill cranks.
fishingaddiction Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Hope to hook up with a few of those larger fish you are referring too during this holiday weekend. How was the water color around the Indians? Haven't been over there in a while. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
