After seeing the pictures Richy posted of his swim bait fish, I decided to give it a go.

I am going to be at TR for the next 10 days and plan to give all three of these a substantial dunking. The plan is to throw them on 15 mono (my go to top water setup....)

I hope there are some good results to post.

I would strongly consider going up to 20-pound for those. At least 17. Not so much for strength as castability and overall handling.

Thanks for the heads up. I may be a little slow on the uptake, but I am darn sure coachable!

:slow:

BTW, your coach has got that program headed in the right direction....could well be a heck of a game.

I throw those same baits on 15lbs test, Berkeley big game clear, especially in this crystal clear winter water. I don't trust Flouro because it seems to get brittle in the cold, the mono seems to hold up much better

Yeah you'll be fine with 15lb for those smaller baits unless you're fishing around lots of timber. I mainly fish mine on 20lb but I'm fishing around a lot more cover than you are on most places on Table Rock. Plus the dang zebra mussels eat line so fast I like to have a little heavier line when I'm tossing $50+ baits around.

I have been flyfishing with my son in law the last few days so no testing yet....

The plan is to give it a fit this week and I will post results good or not so good :)
