Feathers and Fins Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Even I have been asked to keep this spot quiet by a few very close friends who are going out today and later this week. However there are stripers on the bite in Beaver Shores area, Blackburn, Horseshoe Bend and Hickory Creek. All those spots have been more than reliable for the last week. I am about to make a New thread about some things I have seen the last two weeks to help people catch them right now so give me about 30 minutes maybe less or more. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
J-Doc Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 It wasn't towards you man. We had a discussion at the ramp just Friday and tried to take a photo of the tounge patch. I myself included have been guilty of thinking I was catching whites when I didn't know Tue difference between a small striper, a white, or a hybrid. Until I learned the small details, they all looked about the same to me a couple of years ago. In general, most anglers don't know the difference. Either because they never target any of the species or were just unaware of the differences. The tounge patches we have been seeing lately are so very close together (touching) that it's super hard to denote hybrid or white. The staggered stripes are the dead giveaway but the patch looks like one patch vs two. So we were discussing at the ramp and noting that a fella cold get himself in a ton of trouble if he wasn't extra carefull because even the warrden may argue the species. So..... Thus my joke. Definately not aimed at you. :-) Apologies for any confusion. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! kjackson Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 To paraphrase the famous Jaws quote.... jaws clip: "You're going to need a bigger boat": "Youre going to need a bigger NET". Congrats dude. Just keep the location secret. I'm hoping to catch what's left Tuesday!! Lol. If they are still there. Bring extra bait and look for the guy in a blue boat...

Say when and where we meet. I even have a striper net... And I'll take any advice on gear you wish to give. I do have ideas myself, but...
J-Doc Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 You're on, although I wasn't asking for a ride. I know that. I was just trying to save you the trouble of towing all the way over here. That and it will be fun. :-) Besides. I owe you a few trips. I wouldn't have gotten my boat if I had not looked into them for you about a year ago. LOL! Need marine repair?
