snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I love fishing the White River chain but it's a long haul and usually I have to go for a whole weekend. It's nice to go in the morning and be home to BBQ in the afternoon. I wish I lived near the big lakes so I could go anytime I want without driving 4 hours. Pete
laker67 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 My goal is simple, to continue to be able to wade and fish. Two years ago I had major surgery for cancer, and while in recovery, I got a blood infection that dang near killed me. My blood pressure bottomed out and I lost the use of both legs. For the past 18 months I have been learning how to walk again. In august I got back in the creek, and continue to get stronger each trip. Of all of the therapy treatments, this cold water therapy is by far the best. I have to wade cautiously, and stop and rest from time to time, but by golly I got no complaints. A very good friend encouraged me to do this, and I thank him very much. Corky and I have fished together at least once each week since august. Corky is also in rehab after several wrist and elbow surgeries. We have had some great trips and I hope to continue this thru 2015. Ham, Bluff-Bassin, LittleRedFisherman and 3 others 6

countryred Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 My main goal is just to fish more in 2015. 2014 was a rough year. One highlight was watching my daughter hook and land about a 4 lb channel cat , by herself, and then help me clean and cook it. She really enjoyed it. I did catch a 17 inch smallie on the Jacks Fork during our May vacation. That's my best one so far down there. Seen some bigger ones there and hope to tangle with them this year.
LittleRedFisherman Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Very inspirational Laker, keep persevering!! My goals are to have as much fun as possible when I do get to go fishing, fishing more with my Dad would be a good one to, we work together on the farm, but fish less than we used to, that will change soon hopefully, bout got him talked into going with me to the White one day this winter if it's warm enough he says.. I think my main goal, is to fish more with my son who turned 6 last month. We fish in a local pond here, where he can catch um fast, but would like to expand on that this year! I'm with Andy on the PB smallmouth! A 21.5 incher was caught in the waters I fish this fall, I think there's one in there with my name on it!! Good luck to all this new year, whatever be your goals.. laker67 1 There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Fishingmill Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Laker67, thanks for sharing, hope you catch a big one. I had a pretty incredible 2014, including one guided trip in Michigan where I caught 5 browns 20+ inches and a new personal best at 24 inches. I know I won't get to fish as much as I did this year. Here are a few things I'm hoping for in 2015. - 30 in brown trout or rainbow trout - More carp, sucker, buffalo, gar on the fly (and make a video doing it) - Salmon/steelhead on the fly (and avoid getting skunked) - Get some great photos/video while fishing laker67 1 instagram.com/fishingmill twitter.com/Fishingmill vimeo.com/fishingmill

grizzly Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 1. Get my daughter to Dry Run Creek. 2. Catch a slam on the White 3. Catch a Carp on the fly 4. Lose 30 pounds
grizzly Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I also want to catch 7 fish per week. There is no way that I can catch a fish a day with my schedule, so this is my alternative.
Members FishTastic Posted January 4, 2015 Members Posted January 4, 2015 I would like to learn a lot more about many different kinds of fishing lures/techniques to use to catch fish!! If it swims in a pond or a river, I would like to be able to catch it!
