BATCAB27 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 DGB didn't have numerous run ins either, He was busted with weed at least twice and of course the "pushing the gal down the steps" thing.
Terrierman Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 One of my fishing buddies has a son who went to HS with DGB and they were kind of marginal friends. Suffice to say that even in HS DGB knew the rules do not apply to a giraffe who can catch footballs. Mizzou helped to reinforce that to a degree and the NFL is really going to help that process along. I predict he will last maybe five years in the league at the most, unless somehow someway a miracle happens and his head straightens out. This cat likes to get high. Likes it way too much.

ozark trout fisher Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 That certainly simplifies things. It's also accurate, to any degree that matters. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2014/4/10/5594348/college-football-bag-man-interview The only significant difference between programs is how much of the shadiness that coaches know about. If you don't think, for example, that the vast majority 4 and 5 star recruit is getting some form of compensation beyond what's allowed in the NCAA rulebook, then you are blinding yourself to reality. There are no clean programs, just programs that are better at hiding things/plausible deniability. That's why I'm saying DGB is a perception hit, which nationally, it is, despite whatever delusions there may be within the OU fanbase. It's also why I'm not calling Bob Stoops a scumbag, because if he is, all major football coaches are.

LarrySTL Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 It is really tough at Mizzou, as at most large schools, to get in severe doo-doo if you are a star athlete in a major sport. However, even at Mizzou, a few players ( such as the late John Matuzak) and more recently both Derrick Washington from the football team, and that basketball player managed it. It is traditionally even harder to screw it up to that degree at either OU or OSU. Justin Blackmon stayed on the field at OSU ( except for a token 1 game suspension by the school for a DWI with a blood alcohol level that indicates major problems) well enough to be # 5 in the NFL draft, and had a good rookie season but has been suspended 3 times since then for violations of the league's drug policy and he may or may not be back on the NFL field for the coming season. It would not surprize me in DGB becomes the next Justin Blackmon. http://intervenehere.com
