Macsimus Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Oh and another advantage of the Navionics chip, is you can download the Navionics PC app for free after purchase. It allows you to browse all of the maps from your desktop computer. Its really nice. Lakemaster also offers a similar computer program but you pay like 60 bucks for it. You can also just go to this link to browse Navionics maps at your PC (no download required). Pretty slick! http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en Champ188 1 "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
bobby b. Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I helped a friend setup new Humminbird units with I-Pilot link and Lakemaster chips. It is awesome the way the boat can be held in place automatically on a windy point and follow the contour automatically at set speed. You need the Lakemaster chip to make this work and of course about $4000 of upgraded equipment including a new trolling motor.
Members oldasdirt Posted January 15, 2015 Members Posted January 15, 2015 What trolling motor and what model birds just wondering I have a set up on order.
ten_scoach Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Terrova 24v 80lb and hbird 998. Love em both. Had 997 and same troller on last boat. Bought new ones for my new used boat. Thanks for all the feedback. After going to bass pro and comparing side to side went with lake master. I feel the navioncs is a "cleaner" map with more marked lake features like creek channels but just couldn't get past the depth highlight feature and lake level offset to pass up the navionics. That and it was $25 cheeper.
ten_scoach Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 I mean pass up the lakemaster. Went with lm
