Thanks for the report. The Ned Rig is certainly getting a lot of press lately. Can't remember so many good reports in the past using the little rig with water temps where they are.

Folks just didn't try it. Some of us have been suggesting it, but darned if that MO state motto isn't well earned. It has been a cold weather staple around the other KC for a good long time. Shallow too, even in 39-41 degree water. Had plans to try it myself today, but our puddles are still a bit solid despite the warm up.

I have to wonder if there are not some good ones to be caught on it just a bit shallower on the Rock...

Ned seems to always do well as soon as the ice leaves Lone Star with the rig. First chance I get I'll be headed that way when the ice leaves. Gardner Lake is 5 minutes from my house and right across the street from my work, quite a bit of open water yesterday but the ramp is still solid. Going to be trying the bass fishing for trout a little more this year. I caught a few nice trout doing it last year but reverted back to the more typical techniques a little faster than I should have.

Little stuff up in MO was still mostly iced. At least on the 29/435 run between LV and Liberty. Wanted to run the little swimbait and the crustreaz just for kicks. Oh well.

Agree Dave, more anglers have come to know the power of the little rig, in any season. Sorry to hear you guys don't have any soft water to fish, that would drive me to drinking (too much). I do think you have a point about there being some good fish shallow that could be had on the Rig, but on my recent trips, I have always caught better fish deeper. Location seems to be very very important right now. When you get the location right it can be good, and usually several can be caught there.
