Terrierman Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Awfully big hook. You are right about the price. Wow. If you think that's bad, check these out. My experience with them has been really good. But darn.... http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_G-Finesse_Series_Wacky_Jig_Head_3pk/descpage-SJW.html
dtrs5kprs Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Yep. I have used most of the heads that could conceivably work. Fish Arrow, Hayabusa, etc. Gets spendy quickly. We are getting some molds made so I have an idea what it costs to spin cast heads. Higher than you would think. Very labor intensive loading the components, especially the little guards.
Guest Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I've been using the PJs for 3 years but only if I'm out of Dave's jig head. They're hook eats up the entire bait & don't get me started on that wimpy weedguard. The mustad #2 hook is superior
LittleRedFisherman Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Had some time this afternoon to put together a short video of some of my experience with the Ned Friday, ya'll can get a good idea how i'm working it, and i'm curious to see how you guys do different. It was unreal an hour before dark how well it worked. I"ll try to get it posted tonight, have to wait for my "free zone"...Dang Satelite internet...lol Rick, yeah those are for sure pricy, but probably good quality. Dave, Ham and I are gonna hook up again soon, and he said he was gonna let me try one of your hooks! I"ll post the video right here when I get it downloaded.. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
LittleRedFisherman Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Actually got this thread mixed up with the "back on the water with Ned" thread, i'll post the video at both..lol There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

Guest Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I wish I knew how to catch river smallies in the winter. Something that I've failed to accomplish over the years

It's downloading, maybe have it up by 11.. I don't have the best bass lakes close to where I live, we have bass in our delta river systems, the St. Francis near the Sunken lands are excellent for Kentukies!! As far as smallmouth, the rivers to my west are my closest option, i'm thankful to be as close to them as I am. Now Hamilton, IMO as far as fishing goes, lives in Gods country, the amount of different kinds of great fishing right there still blows my mind! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Guest Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I used to duck hunt the sunken lands & snag below the run out. Never knew there were kentuckies in that stretch

Never knew there were kentuckies in that stretch Oh yeah, from Paragould south down there is all good for Spots, lots of channels out there with wood and trees. Here in Clay country it's one Channel, and when it's low in the summer, that's about where all the water is, the wooded areas drain out. Video bout done, still processing, my internet stinks! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
