Feathers and Fins Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 This time I had to go do it from shore, sometimes getting back to basics of a Rod and Reel casting a lure from shore is just needed to bring the kid out in you and remind you of why you love fishing. I hit the water at 4pm slight north wind birds working bait and Bucktail tied on. I managed 5 stripers and one that spooled me ( been many years since that happened ) I couldn't stop it turn it do nothing but watch it rip the line off the reel. Anyway conditions were Frontal, light N-wind, Lure was a Bucktail 3/4oz. A pair of the 5 landed Lance34 1 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Dan the fisherman Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Fins!! Man ur on a roll. I haven't been able to find them big ones in at least a couple of weeks. Great job! Keep it up... About how much do those weigh?
Feathers and Fins Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 15 to 20lb class fish. The one that spooled me I couldn't turn, slow down, stop, hesitate anything it just burned off line and was gone. My guess it had to have been in the 40lb class. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Tanderson15 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 You won't catch any crappie on those jigs, I think a little big. Now I know why you gave me those little crappie jigs so I wouldn't catch any stripers. It had to be fun from shore. I remember those days also. I'm impressed.
J-Doc Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Yeah. He kept torture-texting me photos while I was in a meeting at work and then I had to pick up kids before a meeting after work. Timing is everything and he has the time. I don't. And it's killing me. Too much going on to take a day off. One day, I'll get to enjoy such fun and catch some big ones. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Terrierman Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 You are a fish killer FF. I had a pretty good day one time kind of like that from the bank on the Red River below the dam at Texoma. Lot of fun. You do it on a regular basis. Kudos.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 HEY NOW 4 of 5 stripers were released happy and safely lol. They need to be there for tomorrow and tell their friends I just play with them I don't hurt them... Gotta keep my pets thinking they are safe. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
