Terrierman Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Bucketmouth is a pretty good description of that fish.
Johnsfolly Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Awesome fish. The article didn't say if he released the fish. I don't like to see fish that large only being supported by its jaw for the picture. Roger Craig 1

I don't like to see fish that large only being supported by its jaw for the picture. Sadly, from what I understand, the process to get a fish weighed officially usually kills the fish whether the angler wanted to or not. It is kind of sad, but it is the only way to make sure the records are legitimate.
Smallieguy87 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 What a hog! It is a shame to see a fish like that not being released but Brian is right when it comes to them being weighed for a record. I personally would have just measured and took a picture and let that do the talking especially if i didn't have a scale of my own. (not saying what this man did with his catch is wrong just not what i would have done)
Members EastTnAngler Posted February 20, 2015 Members Posted February 20, 2015 The fish is officially the new TN state record. I believe this is one of the Florida strain bass that has been introduced to TN. Unfortunately the fish was not released. I'm not sure why it was killed, but have been told it is not a requirement by TWRA for the fish to be killed.
