dtrs5kprs Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I'm more interested in the jig heads. I wonder what size hook? Can you buy the jig heads w/o the bodies? Have only seen info on the pre-rigged version so far.
fishingaddiction Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Have only seen info on the pre-rigged version so far. Looks like a round ball head, 60 degree jig hook of fairly heavy wire, with a light wire weed guard. The hook size looks small to me. Maybe a 2.0 or 3.0? The hook gap seems to be about right. Looks like something that could be casted fairly easy. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.

fishingaddiction Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Could be. Can't get a good look at the head from the pictures. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Just sort of looks flat on the back of the head. Can kind of see it in the pic of the pearl one at TW.
fishingaddiction Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Don't know why it would need that kind of head other than if you fished it bouncing off the bottom. My application would be that of any other plastic swim bait, which would normally be fished up in the water column. Regular ball head with a wire weed guard would work. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.

Seems like a ball would work, or a shad head. Looks like the front of the bait is flat, can only assume they want it to match up to the back of the head. Could also be a piece we can't see in the pics. Sort of generally turned off by pre-rigged baits, and have totes full of swimbaits that look great but don't work as well as a minnowz, keitech type, or hand poured boot tail. On the other hand, I have been keeping the bait monkey at bay, so I might drop my guard. Have not ordered much except rock crawlers and jig hooks.
Quillback Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Yeah I am not crazy about the pre-rigged head myself, I would rather just buy the plastic and get the heads separately. Maybe there is something to that head that gives it the action it has, but seems to me any ball head should work.
abkeenan Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Not a fan of pre-rigged stuff either. Wonder if they will sell just the bodies at some point? Prolly not as they want you to buy the kit like in their Bama Rig and accessory kit that goes with it. Also had that "3 for 1" jig thing with 3 boot tails models into one bait that you bought it in a kit with one pre-rigged and a couple of spare bodies.
Guest Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Looks like they brought back the hardnose plastics for this. 8$ for 4 plastics and a jighead doesn't appeal to me though.
