Champ188 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Water that comes thru the gates comes off the bottom of Table Rock Lake, so it's cold. That's what creates the ideal conditions for these tailwater trout fisheries along the White River chain of lakes. Taney's water temp warms as it flows downstream toward Branson.
Hunter91 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I find its nice to fish in the heat of summer not only because the fish are active but running down the lake there are pockets of cool air like air conditioning
Champ188 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Haven't fished Taney but used to fish the Little Red in Arkansas and it was like that. Crazy how much that water would cool the air. As you said, just like air conditioning.
Sac River Jim Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 champ my friend dave works over at the outlet store and he showed me a pick of a very nice fish he caught down there a month ago. when i worked at trout hollow lodge a few years ago i used to run below bull creek and chase green fish around whenever i could. Champ188, Aggressor1988long, bs1827 and 1 other 4
Aggressor1988long Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Okay there are nice bass in taneycomo I would recommend hitting the creek arms with a stick bait, move it slow, jerk it and let it set for a minute. Ive caught them many times.
MOBass Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 As mentioned creek arms warm faster than the rest of the lake. I throw a stick-o a lot. Texas or Wacky rigged. A 7" blue fleck worm around docks is pretty solid. In the summer when the weeds start growing I have caught some fish throwing a buzz bait on the edges. There are some bluff banks that can be really good. Look for the old gold mine facade if it is still there. Decent bank for whatever reason. You can go bear hunting also. Tie on a big trout colored swim bait. I have seen some guys throwing a rigs also. There are some big bass and some trophy browns. Don't expect any numbers, but you may catch a toad with the big stuff.
PAT92B Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 3 Years ago me and my dad went down to Branson on one of those Bass Pro Shops time share deals it was September and kinda hot we fished Table Rock the first day and hardly got a bite. The second morning we were down there we had to do the time share tour after the tour we headed for the Bass Pro Shop at the landing to spend all the gift cards they gave my dad after the tour. While walking the boardwalk along the lake to the Bass Pro we started noticing bass right next to the rock bank facing the bank a bunch of them and nice ones so we decided to put in at Rockaway and went up lake a few miles and stared fishing the creeks we caught some nice bass in the creeks and in the grass along the banks on frogs on the way back we went up bull creek and the bass were busting bait fish everywhere we caught fish on nearly every cast till dark. The next day we put in at Cooper creek and headed for the landing we caught several bass around the restaurants and the shore. While in Rockaway Beach I went into the Taneycomo market I seen some pics of some big bass.
