Speaking or low water dams, the industrial park spillway is blocking the flow of water & natural spawning runs.

Why does it exist anyway? It seems like an old relic that needs to be modified, cut a notch in it or blow it out.

I think the pooling effect it creates is causing the water to have a heavy algae bloom. I'm no scientist but it seems like a bad idea.

It is a relic from the 1920s owned by the city of Fayetteville. (First water plant). The white bass have sometimes made it past. That dam was at one time partially washed out. Fayetteville could easily remove any obstruction caused by it.

Really good discussion,

For me I would love to see the Banks from twin bridges all the way to the end of the line at the start of the white river turned in to CRP / Riparian habitat. Loose the dam at Fayetteville and dredge up all the silts. I know it wont happen but sure would be a beautiful float trip and clean up the lake.

F&F, the low water dam referenced is at the Fayetteville industrial park on the west fork of White River. It only filled the channel in its day.
