Quillback Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I've always wondered why pheasant aren't found south of roughly the MO/Iowa border area. Here's some speculation from MDC. covhqspring2015.pdf
Terrierman Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 It's too hot and only getting hotter. Iowa and Kansas are also suffering declines no?
Quillback Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Yeah they are, but seemed to be an uptick in numbers last year due to the weather being more bird friendly.
ness Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Yeah, the KS pre-season counts were up and I saw a lot more birds. I saw several at a spot in Atchison County, MO early in the season too. I purposely missed because I felt sorry for them. Deadstream 1 John
rFisherk Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I purposely miss a lot of doves too. Feel sorry for the shotgun shell manufacturers and try to support them all I can. ness and Deadstream 2
