Members Basscatcher1 Posted March 25, 2015 Members Posted March 25, 2015 Never been to the lake will be there Saturday morning. How far of a run is it to come out of old state park and run to Ruark? Any help I would appericate it thanks
Members paintnfurdoe Posted March 25, 2015 Members Posted March 25, 2015 Not sure on miles to Ruark, but bout 10 or 15 min run depending on how fast your going. Can be rough if wind is howling
Dutch Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Why not put in at Mutton Creek or Rouark and avoid the run?
Members Basscatcher1 Posted March 25, 2015 Author Members Posted March 25, 2015 Tournament takes out of old state park. Is there anything to watch out for running down there or is it pretty open? Just trying to get an idea if it's worth staying on the main lake or running down there don't really want to take a chance of tearing up the boat.
zarraspook Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 You will have a couple of shallow spots on the west side but, stay 30-50 yards off shore = no problems.... Sac River Jim and Aggressor1988long 2 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Flysmallie Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 It's an easy run, nothing to be concerned about. Just watch the wind like they said. It can get really bad out there quick on that side of the lake.

Sac River Jim Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 After you go under Y highway bridge two places to watch out for. if you decide to go left and head up the Big sac watch for the marker bouy and stay to the right of it. if you head up towards H highway bridge take a wide path around the rock point. there was a marker bouy on it a couple sundays ago but monday we noticed it looked like it had broke loose and was on the otherside of the bridge in front on the first pocket. that area is shallow too but if you stay off the bank bout 50 yards you'll be ok. Sons creek gets a little tricky between griesser and the three hills landing, seen a couple boats run up on the mud flat just above three hills last week.
