Members Bream Posted March 28, 2015 Members Posted March 28, 2015 I've talked with 3 game wardens about this. All have told me you are fine to troll more than 3 rods, just label them. The problem they mostly deal with is the 10 guys on the shore all with poles "just watching them" for the one guy with the license. As for the 3 hooks thing above, that makes crank baits illegal to drag. Dont think that's quite right. There's more to it than that. Just my .02 What is the purpose of labeling if you have more than 3 poles?
Sac River Jim Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 http://mdc.mo.gov/newsroom/only-three-hooked-lures-allowed-alabama-rigs-missouri One potential point for confusion is that lures such as crankbaits have multiple hooks. They are still considered one hook under the Wildlife Code definition. The key is to apply the regulatory definition of a hook to use the rig. The numbers of hooks on each lure are not counted, but rather, the numbers of lures with a hook or hooks are counted. cut and pasted from the regulations on A rigs.
Members Corky Posted March 28, 2015 Members Posted March 28, 2015 The best way to find your answer to any regulation is to call MDC Regulations Dept. in Jeff City at 573-522-4115 ext 3501
Aggressor1988long Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Hell just go fishing if the big man shows up cut your line, come on now why all the non-sense
Aggressor1988long Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Game warden is last person I wanna talk too lol
ten_scoach Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I think the labeling your rods thing is somehow linked to the same reason you have to label jug lines. Best bet would be to just label them and troll on!!
fishinwrench Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Yeah, any agent that would write you a summons for fishing in a boat with 4 unlabeled rods is just being a jackass.
