Old plug Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Seth---- I did not know that. I will be checking it out for sure. But last summer I had been out a couple times looking and all I could catch was Channels. I had a note from Wrench saying he was having the same problem. I did catch one about 10 lbs off a very tiny node off of coffins beach mid spring. Maybe I just did not keep at it long enough this past year. I made no attempt in the fall what so ever. I also have not heard of anyone busting big blues above Cedar Point. I have juggers out there pretty regular and from my deck I have not seen much action.I watch them a lot when I am hvi g my c offer or BBQing. Strange isn't it.
MOsmallies Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 This thread seems to be getting hijacked by a discussion on Catfish, so I thought I'd share that there are still some nice Blues swimming around out there. My father in law and a buddy of his had a 12 lber, 18 lber, and a 29 lber off of our dock last weekend. Tightlining cutbait... And our dock is near the very back of our cove... These fish were in about 15 foot of water... fishinwrench 1
Members ehertz2 Posted April 10, 2015 Members Posted April 10, 2015 Fishinwrench, any info on the whites would be.much appreciated. Coming up to the lake with the fly rod this weekend to fish the Big Niangua. Any advice? Eric
fishinwrench Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 The White run started off like gangbusters.. .THEN they started pulling the lake down again. This causes a problem on LO because at normal levels a dam of silt/gravel builds up at the mouths of the creeks, so when they pull the lake down the fish can't make the jump and get into the creeks very easily. A few slither through anyway but the masses won't until the lake level is 657.5 or above. So now we wait.

Only place I fished for them in the gravois this past year. were places above Tony's point on the Gravois. I did get one 10 on a spoon mid spring. But nothing else. But i need to admit after a few times and a bunch of channels I stopped even trying. But I will test it again this year. Only way i fish them is with spoons and sometimes with hunks of shad on the spoon.
