big c Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Following all the good advice on this forum my son and i fished in the indian creek area. We cought eight keepers (small mouth and spots) before the rain. After the rain we fished from 1-5p at point 1. We fished on the west side of the point from basically the banks/standing timber to the shollow water bouy. Cought another five keeper spots, three keeper small mouths, and five shorts. From there we hit points back to the tree house condo area. No more keepers but another four short smallies, one spot. First thing this morning my son caught them on a spinner bait. i caught some on the ned. The ned was fished slow using a watermelon/red flake half a Yamamoto senko. We used the ned heads Dave sent us. We REALLY appricate all the info you guys/gals share!! We will be here untill Sunday and i will post pics if it helps. We are in a red skeeter zx200. Champ/Donna......you guys rock!! Thanks again. Quillback, Donna G and Sac River Jim 3
Champ188 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Super day, Chris. Donna says considering all the keepers you guys had, I should follow my own advice better. Look forward to having you and the family here on a regular basis. techo 1
Guest Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 When you run out of senkos, try the zman or strike king zero. They won't tear up after 1-2 fish like the senkos.
big c Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Thanks trophyfisher, i think we will try the tackle shop in kimberling city for them.
big c Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Champ, you know what you're doing if too Hawkeyes can follow and be successful.
Moswimb8slinger Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 If your launching out of Indian Point, be sure to stop by Ozarks extreme outdoors, a good friend of mine owns that Kayak shop, and has plenty of tackle.
big c Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 4-23.....we got out around 1100 hrs. Fished secondary points in Indian. Caught 3 Kentucky keepers 9 smallmouth. Only had four keepers total. Off the lake at 5. We found a point across the lake (west) of the big marina just north of the indian point marina. The point was loaded with Kentuckys, spent a lot of time on it. We caught numerous short Kentucky. Most all on the Ned and best when the wind layed down some.
Quillback Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Nothing wrong with getting into a bunch of K's. They ought to start chasing top waters soon.
