What are the bass biting on and where are good places to fish for them?

Thanks for the help!

Hula grubs and Sluggo/Fluke baits were always good to me during Spring on Pomme. It's been awhile since I have fished it though.

Do they have any water now ?

I'd have on a floating worm, white spinnerbait and a fire tiger crankbait. Maybe drag some plastic in some key areas. And I'd be fishing from Bolivar Landing to Hwy 83 Marina.

I haven't been up there lately but I've been there before and I would be very confident in that.

I would be betting on shallow right now. haven't been there and someone who has can either confirm or deny but I would be looking for bedding bass to start with to see if I can figure out what stage of the spawn they are in. See a lot of fish on beds then sight fishing will probably be best bet. If not, they won't be far from the spawning areas. I would look for the first break of deep water closest to the spawning areas. Jig, crankbait, spinnerbait, plastic, c-rig. etc.

I don't know what to look for with spawning carp necessarily - but they are all over the shallows at Pomme. We fished there Friday and the big shad and carp where everywhere we fished. Some carp were cruising, others looked to be laying on the bottom.

Fished this afternoon. Saw what looked like schools of fry everywhere. If they were shad schools they would be the smallest shad I've ever seen. Caught mostly small males in 2-10 feet of water. Biggest keeper was 2 pounds. Was a blast being out on the water, going to try again tomorrow. Tried throwing a weightless fluke, weightless worms but couldn't get anything to chase. Plastics got the small males on bottom.
