Hammer time Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Started 7pm Indain area in deeper cuts with lots of cedar trees and a breeze. Found quality fish in 8-15 fow on c-rig lizard. Had 4 and 3 keeps before dark. Motored to dam area fished same type of banks with 1/2oz black/purple football jig and caught 17 and 8 keeps. Fished till 1am. Had lake to myself only seen one boat out after dark, beautiful night. Tight lines. Squirrel Fishin', Quillback, RogueAgent and 1 other 4
fishingaddiction Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Very nice outing and pics Hammer. Very nice fish qualify, those you caught don't show any signs of the spawn, they are very clean. Curious about your C rig. What is your set up, heavy bait casting gear or the finesse spinning gear set up? Hammer time 1 Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
merc1997 Bo Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 nice job! we fished in the upper white last night with pretty close to the same results. we fished from dark to midnight and had eight keepers. a couple of them were three pounders. depth of bite was close to the same, but we did catch some right on the bank. the bite was definitely slower than on monday and tuesday, but i expected that because of the passing of the front and washed out skies. with the warmer nights coming, i would expect the bite to be really good again. bo

fishingaddiction Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 C-rig set up 7ft6in heavy action rod 7to1 baitcaster 17lbs fluro main line 15lbs mono liter 1/2oz weight Thanks. very similar to what I use when power fishing the C rig. I also use a spinning rig finesse C rig, 10# braid with either 6 to 8# fluoro/mono leader. Smaller baits like the fish doctor, tiny brush hog, small finesse worm....etc. Similar to split shot rig. Hammer time Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Used to split shot years ago and lost way too many fish. You nick 8lbs test a few times now you got 4lbs. Come post spawn I use same set up and throw finesse worms and turd worms they don't mind the 15lbs liter and I can muscle em in. Mostly throw football jigs post spawn and all summer with 20lbs floro. That's my preference.
