Yeah, he was asking if all 25 were keepers.

Gotcha. Of the fish I caught in that area there were 25 that were all over 15 inches. To be fair I did not measure all of them but the first few I did.

I did catch a couple short fish earlier and one later that were short.

great job. there are some bass up cruising right now, but in the daytime especially, the majority of the bass are suspended feeding on shad, and the needle nose minnow, which are still in abundance this year too.

i would expect to see any larger arm or cove to have a fairly big group of shad and bass in the back half. this is where you will see them any year before spawn.

this is one of the times and places that the holy rogue can really be effective. it can fished at depth and you can cover lots of water in a hurry with it.

looks like the bulk of the spawn is now going to be at the new moon or at the end of the month and first of june.

I'm with you. We always have some brownies lingering on deep beds in early June, but we might have quite a few this year. Strange deal. Had the early warm up, but those cold rains just hit the pause button.

Yes, I was amazed that of the 25 fish you caught in that area, all 25 were keepers. You've figured something out that none of the rest of us have. Congratulations.

Sometime your the windshield and sometimes the bug. You were for sure the windshield on that deal. I have landed on some pretty heavy fishing, usually in the Winter or post spawn. I really cannot say I have ever had the action you had with that many quality fish that fast, it is 0ne of the Ages and I truly envy your morning.

For the last week I have been guiding every day, one day I will have a ton of little fish and the next day some very nice keeps. Had one day in a 6hr. period we had 12 solid keeps and I thought that was pretty good. Most days we guide type people are averaging 20 to 30 fish with 6 to 8 keeps.

I can however see a good run at this time of the year. With shad and action like that I'm surprised you did not nail a White or two. They very seldom are absent from the Table on a buffet like that.

Thanks for sharing your morning.

Good Luck

I'll be honest when I first saw it I thought they were White bass. I figured what the heck, I dont mind catching whites. I didn't catch any but I don't doubt that they were there.

The more reaction I see from veteran guys like yourself the more I realize how historic this morning was for me.

I don't think I have anything special figured out though. Before I came upon these fish I struggled , and I struggled after they were gone. Anyone could have slayed those fish. They were just everywhere! and then they were gone.
