I wonder how this new water will affect the crappie and white bass spawns? They spawned and then the water deepened over the sites and in some cases became very muddy. Do newly hatched fry fare well under these conditions?

JohnF52, The inflow of nutrient rich water (increasing zooplankton production) combined with rising water levels (increasing the amount of submerged shoreline cover) will greatly benefit the newly hatched larvae fish. Individual growth and percentage of survival of the fry will increase.

A good start to this year's spawn! Hopefully the water levels will stay up through the summer and create a strong year class of multiple species.

I hope so, maybe they wont jerk all the water out of the bushes.

It needs to stop raining so hard & maybe it will stabilize at 1125ft.

Heavy rain last night should give us another foot, so looks like it will top out at 1127, still at 1125.3 this morning but I think the rivers are still full and the run off from last night is good for a foot or two.

Were due for another 2-3" this weekend.

It's about to get real.

1127 today, with another flood watch in place. 1128 is gonna happen sooner than later.

This rainfall will go over the flood gates, look out Holiday Island! Opening the flood gates on a 3 day weekend with so many people who don't pay attention to what is happening is never good. I hope they have closed the campsites below the dam.

Im guessing 1128.00 by the end of the day and well upwards of 1129 by tomorrow if the rain keeps coming down. 1130 is flood stage for the lake. They open the gates I will be making the run down to the dam despite how much I don't like to but the stripers and walleye will be going nuts and all the points between will be on fire.

Creeks above Elkins are raging torrents. Floodwaters are on the way to Beaver Lake.
