Quillback Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 They've just issued a flood advisory for western Benton County.
Quillback Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Weatherchannel.com is now predicting we could get anywhere from 3 to 8 inches of rain in this area by Friday. http://www.weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/tropical-development-gulf-of-mexico-91-l-heavy-rain
Members zummy Posted June 15, 2015 Members Posted June 15, 2015 We are headed that way in 3 weeks. I will be monitoring the thread to see if its even worth dragging the boat down this year. Caught some fish at Beaver last year and generally had a blast. Here in Kansas the local lake has been 20 ft high. Water was lapping over the top of the spillway gates. We got a bunch of rain last night and I went and pulled a trail camera today as a precaution. We have a power plant lake close to the house with a small drainage, and the smallies have been on fire there for weeks, but walleye, whites, wipers, and crappie have all but disappeared compared to previous years. Are your ramps useable right now? We will be staying in the Lost Bridge Village area.
Quillback Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I know that the Indian Creek launch is useable, my guess is Lost Bridge North and South should also be useable. Forecast is not getting better for this week. MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED THROUGH MID WEEK. A MORE WIDESPREAD AND SIGNIFICANT FLOODING THREAT WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY AS A TROPICAL SYSTEM LIFTS NORTH INTO THE AREA FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. WIDESPREAD 4 TO 7 INCHES WILL BE COMMON ACROSS THE WATCH AREA WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS TO AROUND 10 INCHES. THIS WILL LIKELY LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOODING.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Updated possible totals 5 to possibly 10 inches (10 in isolated areas ) if 10 sets up around F-ville get your cameras and head to the Dam for some great pictures. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
JohnF52 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 It looks like this year will qualify as a "high water year". The first since 2011.
Members showmebass Posted June 16, 2015 Members Posted June 16, 2015 I'm beginning to wonder if the deep summertime crappie bite is going to "get right" this year. Usually a limit is almost guaranteed by this time, but they definitely aren't in any hurry to get to their normal haunts.
Stump bumper Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Generation is wide open and the lake is still rising and the real rain is coming tomorrow. Gates should be open by noon.
