Ham Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Water like other things rolls downhill. BSL is the last big retaining pond and they have been getting a lot of water down south. Looks like a great summer for throwing streamers and jerkbaits on the White. I had asked about a sticky thread on ramps usable at what water level (high and low) before. I got minimal response. The COE ought to have a chart, but I bet they don't. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Fish24/7 Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 i know right now there's about 3' left of the new ramp at theodosia, the old corps park ramp has been totally under for weeks, spring creek had just a few feet of ramp left a few days ago all the courtesy docks at these ramps are usually accessible watch out for floating logs and debris now again Ham 1
mixermarkb Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Spring Creek ramp is usable, no problems. The new ramp at Buck Creek is usable, but a pain in the butt due to the big rockpiles the corps put on either side of it that are now flooded and about 1' deep. The older ramp at buck creek is under water, but the road to it works just fine, only no courtesy dock there.
Ham Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Oakland was under water at 667, but it gets usable off the downslope at ???. Pontiac should be ok for a few more feet. Jimmy Creek should be ok until the road to it floods out. I would bet the ramp closest to the dam is not usable now. CR15 is toast but there is a long steep on in Howard Creek that is got to still be good. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Bluff-Bassin Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 There is still plenty of space left to launch at the gravel launch in big creek. Put in there yesterday for a 6 hour trip. Caught about 15 all browns and greens, no kys. Still caught a few in the bushes, but had my best luck deeper. Best was a 3.5lbs smallie. Also had a largemouth about the same size. It had a 5pounder head with a 3 pounder body... Lakes high but the fish are still biting. I had one spot the size of a pick up truck I caught 6 smallies off of in about 20fow. Ham 1
Diamond City Fisher Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Can still launch in the campground at Lead Hill, plus if the water gets really high there's a new high water ramp that was built after the high water a few years ago. So far we haven't needed it. May need it soon.
Members alnt Posted May 22, 2015 Members Posted May 22, 2015 New ramp at Theodosia under water but usable. Old core ramp flooded but usable, minimal parking. Courtesy doc ok on both. Ham 1
Fish24/7 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 lake is swallowing up the Theodosia park area, getting diff. to launch , but still usable
Ham Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Fish 24/7 what is the lowest the Theodosia ramp is usable and what is the highest that you can use the regular ramp? I know you can launch off the downslope at some magical super high water level, but what is the max to use the normal ramp. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
