jeb Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 We got just shy of 2" in the PC area, and the water level is still rising this morning. Went out for a few hours before the crazies get on the water. No muddy water that I ran into, but I only went back mid-way to the back in the coves I was in. Lots of guys beating the banks, of course. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Lance34 Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Took this picture on my bike ride this morning. This is taken from the road right across from War Eagel marina. Saw several big logs, more like trees floating around Hickory Creek area too.
Guest Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 THE HEAVY RAINFALL FROM THE WEEKEND HAS CAUSED AREA LAKES...SMALLCREEKS AND STREAMS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS AS WELL AS THE MAJOR RIVERS TO FLOOD. THIS FLOODING WILL LIKELY CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT AND INTO MONDAY...IF NOT LONGER. AREA LAKES ARE NEAR OR SLIGHTLY OVER FULL CAPACITY. HIGH RELEASES ARE REQUIRED AND THIS MAY FLOOD THE DOWNSTREAM RIVER. ALSO...TRIBUTARIES THAT FEED INTO THESE RESERVOIRS WILL ALSO BACK UP AND FLOOD UNTIL LAKE LEVELS GET UNDER CONTROL.
Guest Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 * AT 518 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATEDTHUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WILL BE MOVING INTO THE WARNED AREA FROM THE SOUTH. RAINFALL RATES FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE IN SOME AREAS...WITH SOME LOCALIZED HEAVIER AMOUNTS. GIVEN SATURATED GROUNDS FROM RECENT RAINS...MOST OF THIS RAIN WILL BECOME RUNOFF QUICKLY AND WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING.
Ham Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Man, TFR, I can decide if you are Chocken Little or Mother Hen. The rain is gonna fall and the lakes are gonna come up. If you live in low lying areras " Turn around, don't drown". I refuse to worry about it. I know streams that clear up fast and I planned on fishing Bull until middle of June anyway. Guest Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Phil asked if local folks would post what they see in their local watersheds. Nothing to worry about. Just reporting

Guest Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I have a fascination with natural disasters, especially major flood events.
Guest Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I'm one of those people that would stand outside & watch the tornado roll by. I don't know why, but I've always been obsessed with severe weather. In fact I took several college courses that involved weather. My problem, they don't pay weathermen enough to switch careers. Lol
