Guest MOzarkCountry Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I have paddled for fun now and again over the years but now Im living here with small rivers all around and want to get serious. I picked up a NOS Wenonah Wilderness from KC Paddler (may he rest in peace) and I would like to really learn how to paddle the thing safely and efficient;y. In TX there were a few paddling schools but I havent found anything here. Does anyone know of a school or a person that teaches paddling or even river paddling? Thanks
Terrierman Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 The Meyer Center (Cox Health) is having a beginner Kayak class in their pool if that's the kind of thing you are interested in.
fishinwrench Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Where is Bobber ? He used to run a class, but I haven't seen him post in awhile.

Guest MOzarkCountry Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 The ACA has a school this weekend in Arkansas! The Arkansas Canoe Club’s School of River Paddling is designed to introduce basic paddling techniques on Class I+ rivers. Contained in these pages is information that should be read by each person registering for the school.
Guest MOzarkCountry Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I was pretty excited about a whole weekend of paddling school but they are sold out and registration is closed. I am still kind of considering going down there ready for class in case someone doesnt show. In the meantime Ill get back to searching the ACA site for anything close by.
