I fished solo from 3 pm until 7 pm. I chose to go to the lower river knowing the water would be stained from the Buffalo's inflow. I was hoping that I wouldn't have much company. I was right about the water color, but wrong about the company. I had lots of new best friends low holing me and wake the crap out of me instead of giving me a wider berth. I caught them anyway, but it was annoying.

Water was stained more so on the Marion county side than the Baxter side.

I primarily fished a variety of zig jigs. Mostly 1/16 oz. 1/8 oz wasn't as effective. I did use an inline spinner in some shallower water over the tops of grass. The hits on the inline spinner are not subtle.

I had less fish overall, but better size that usual. The dingy water seem to make the Browns more aggressive. I caught 4 Browns, 15, 16, 19, and 20. They all really pulled. I had a lot of >14 inch Rainbows and a couple of small cutties.

The fish were holding near the bottom and with the dingy water I really had to fish it low and slow. Tough for me to be patient, but fishing the Ned helps you learn to fish slow.

I ended up with 44. I really wanted to hang a 50 burger on them ,but my bite died and I was starving. I learned a little something today. Which was part of my plan.

Fly guys would need to go above Buffalo City if they are going to fish the White. I guess you could have thrown streamers though.

Based on the water color I was fishing and pictures of the lower Buffalo that I saw that were taken yesterday, I think the Buffalo is more stained than I would like. I've caught fish from water that color, but I would prefer to fish clearer water than that. You might love it though.
