Members Mudshack Posted June 7, 2015 Members Posted June 7, 2015 I believe that this is my first post. I have been lurking and absorbing your great knowledge (BS) and love it. Last year I bought some KVD crank baits in white/grey and made out with a few nice fish at Pomme de Terre. It was our first attempt at trolling and WOW it is relaxing. So, this year as we venture to our second trip to Pomme de Terre, we upgraded our electronics to a Lowrance Elite-7 and I just left Bass Pro with my 2015 addition to my ever growing midwest lake fishing tackle collection. I got some Flicker Shad (FireTiger and Purple Tiger) for the 9-11' and 11-13' depth. Some Smash Shad for 6-9' and 9-12'. I am thinking of these for my main target fish....walleye and bass. I picked up some Bandit 200s and 300s because I heard the crappie like them. And I love eating crappie. then I picked up some Crawler rigs and bottom bouncer weights for walleye as well as hardware to do some night time catfish hunting. And I walked out of BPS for all under $100. I thought I did pretty well. Any tips on where to focus next weekend at Pomme de Terre? This is our 5th Father/Son annual weekend. And only our second at Pomme de Terre.
Ham Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Guys are reporting getting a lot more depth out of their flicker shads with long line trolling. I know very little about trolling and I assume if you start dredging bottom, you'll make an adjustment. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
zarraspook Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Check this post on the Stockton board for the dive chart on Flicker shad...... Ham 1 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Those flicker shads will catch you more crappie than anything,They are such a good bait for the money and they literally catch everything. One more color i always have on is the Racy Shad. when we troll we have four rods out and always have different colors with one being racy and it always out fisher every color. usually by the end of the day we have a few of them tied on. The Purple Tiger that you have there is also a great color. Let us know how you do, i dont fish Pomme, buton Stockton, Bull, and table Rock the flicker shads are great.
