Wouldn't surprise me. He's hard to beat anywhere on TR and his son Kyle has turned into a pretty good sidekick. They're good folks.

Yes sir! I worked for a vendor company for 5 years and I would work there store there in cape. Great people and I agree his son is going to be one to watch. From what I've been hearing they are fishing those tourny as a team. He knows TR.

we wouldn't get any work done while I was there more talking about fishing and alot less work lol. Very informative. I still like stopping in and saying hi from time to time.

The upper James reminds me a bit of Smithville and Truman (not physically of course). Much tougher than they used to be, but a select few still catch them pretty well.

The James used to instantly come to mind as the place to start on TR. Anymore it seems like you have to be in the clear water to consistently catch them.

Count me out on the select few lol. Throwing the white flag moving to clearer bigger water.

Me as well, although past tense on the move now. All of these lakes just have a few folks who know where to scratch one out when they need it, especially in their preferred areas.

Yep the Powers boys are the ones that win. They are darn good.

As far as zooming by. I'm the guy in the 60hp tracker. It's more of a hummm. Haha. I still have fun competing with these guys though.

That's what it's all about is the competition. Doesn't matter if you have a 2015 model bass boat or a 60 hp tracker it's still fun to go out and do it.

Yeah ol Kelly is hard to beat on his bad days. He knows alot about the lake and where the fish set up on those hard to catch days. You'll get em gotta keep trying. That's what I keep saying lol.

It gets frustrating. But when it all comes together man its rewarding.

I got fourth a couple times so I don't feel to bad. Didn't really start bass fishing until last year. Usually half the field doesn't even weigh a fish.

Heck that's pretty good there's some dang good sticks there.

Last summer me and the ol man had 15lbs with 3 fish and finally took 1st. We had several 3rds and 4th but man that 1st was just so rewarding. Hard work and alot of fishing pays off.

And that's exactly what I'm in is a 60 hp tracker. I'm sure if him or his son were in my little boat they would still dominate. One thing I guarantee is I don't burn as much fuel as them. Haha. I love my boat but it is for sale and I'm ready to get a bigger glass boat. I usually show up a little late so I'm the last one to leave because I'm gonna get passed regardless. First tourny I ever did out of there I finished in the money. It want much but made me feel great. And it was all smallies out of flat creek.

I laughed because I have been a meat man catching crappie for Years out of flat and I have never once caught a Smallie. Lots of little largemouth on crappie stuff but never a small out. Then when I actually bass fished all I could catch was smallies. It was a blast

I've been hearing alot of smallies are coming out of flat/james.

That's awesome. Good luck with your boat sale. If you get a glass boat you'll love it.

I'll agree it doesn't matter the boat I fill alot of it has to do with electronics. You have good graphs that eliminates alot of useless water.
