Today my brother and I floated 13 miles and caught around 40 smallies. He caught one that was 19 and 3/4 inches, I caught two 18" smallies, and he caught another 3 over 17". The others averaged around 15". It was one of the best days I've ever had size wise. Just had to share! Gotta love smallmouth fishing!

We seemed to do better just before the riffles next to any type of cover. Wood seemed to be pretty popular.

The brother here... To top it all off they were all on spooks! What more could you ask for!? We did catch some just before the riffles but it really seemed to me they could be just about anywhere. The 19 incher actually came on a bad cast and I picked him up basically out in the middle with no cover. The wood was definitely a hot spot though.

Thanks guys! Deep wood in swift current was the pattern on Black yesterday with a few on top. Not bad considering the nunber of folks on the water. Best went 17 on a Mitch Craw.Floating again today and tomorrow.

Nice! I need to get on the black. Never done it before. Need to knock a couple new rivers off the list soon. Been thinking maybe big river. I been working close to farmington on top of stono mountain for the last week and I still got a couple weeks there. It's been killing me driving over big river every day on the way to work. Think I'm definitely gonna have to bring my pole and see if I can find some spots to wade after work.

Current seems and eddy's clost to or in deep water was the ticket on a small SWMO creek yesterday evening. Wife took big fish with a 16-17" stud. Had a couple 15's to add to the quality. 30 fish give or take in 3 hr float.
