oneshot Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Locations/WaterManagement.aspx here is a link to a 3 day forecast. They send us a special one but once you get past the 3 days it gets pretty shaky. With last nights rain I suspect we will roll through yesterdays prediction and on up, wouldn't be surprised to see 857. I know the Truman Lake area got smacked again last night, with lots of damage from trees down to roof damage at the Maint. Area, don't know how much rain they received but any was more than they wanted. If LoZ can get their elevation under control, and if the Mo River at Herman doesn't get too high, and we can all begin releases again etc. Well thats a lot of ifs. The big rains are supposed to be gone, with just popup cells, but if one of them hits in the right spot and drops another inch or two, then it just gets worse. The timing sucks. We are having to move campers off of sites as the water in moving in under their camper, trying to determine which sites are next, and at this level a foot or two makes a lot of difference. And since all the campsites are booked for the weekend thee is no place for them to move to. Yes bunch of rain up by Truman, all the gravel roads are washed out along 83HWY. Wind really thinned the trees out by the Dam. Lake of Ozarks has bunch of water headed its way. Niangua at Bennett Spring access oneshot
Members VJMAC Posted July 3, 2015 Members Posted July 3, 2015 Anyone know what the record high water level is on Pomme? Just curious
MOPanfisher Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 864.58 in late September 1993. We don't want to go there again. Hoping to open up outflows today.
MOPanfisher Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 856.91 as of a few minutes ago. Am presently beginning the increases. at 500 CFS now, will go up 500 an hour until we hit 2000k then re-evaluate tomorrow.
oneshot Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 How long can Bagnel release with Missouri coming up? And seems Truman is just releasing enough to hold at current level with all that is going in to it. Plus wonder how long you Guys can release anymore once you start. Yes '93 remember it well I helped evacuate and clean up across the river from Jefferson City, my Brother helped Sand Bag across from Boonville. I know you don't look at long range forecast so we won't. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Looks like Truman is releasing about 250 CFS, compared to LOZ was at about 80,000 CFS. I look at lots of long range forecasts, just know that normally whatever it is will change long before it gets here. http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Portals/29/docs/lakesites/BasinOperations.pdf Here is a presentation where they sort of explain the balancing act. Truman is only showing a very small outflow of 250 CFS which definitely won't hold them level. Loz should be back down in a day or two and then truman will release/generate whatever Bagnell can pass through I would guess. Should be plenty of electricity around for the next month or so. I look at lots of long range forecasts, but I also know what they are worth. One good rain maker and its gone.
buzzbaitr Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 So we have a tourney out of quarry ramp next Sunday. How high is too high to use quarry ramp?
MOPanfisher Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Oh is still useable, unless you want to use the courtesy dock.
