That's might be true to some extent but if you spend a lot of time in a boat a fiberglass one is just going to be a more comfortable choice. I know there are some newer ones that I have no idea about. But if you fish a lot of tournaments and/or like/need to make long runs then glass is the way to go. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are better. Everybody has different desires/needs. I think it's like comparing a pickup to a car. Just different. I spent a week one time fishing in an aluminum boat on Falcon Lake in Texas. I don't see where a glass boat would have been any better except in getting to where we fished faster and being a better option in the wind.
