cheesemaster Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I bought a couple suspending jerkbaits at Academy sports yesterday. I compared them to my Lucky Craft jerkbaits and they are virtually identical. Will they perform the same?
5bites Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I like the square bills quite a bit. They're just a store brand chinese knockoff.
J-Doc Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Not sure exactly but I was told All Star makes the H20 rods. I like them but they can be a bit brittle. Super light, sensitive rods, but I have broke a few. One casting a Carolina rig (sounded like a 22 rifle) and the rest are broken rod tips. Either my fault or just brittle tips. As for the baits, could be the same plug and different components and finish. Compare in the water side by side to know for sure. Need marine repair? Bird Watcher Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I've caught a lot of intentional walleye and incidental bass on the suspending jerkbaits...enough of them to convince myself those are the only jerkbaits i need to buy @ 2.99.
cheesemaster Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 I paid $3.99 for mine - but that is a whole lot cheaper than $13.99 up to $15.99 I was spending on Lucky Craft. I will see if they chatch any fish this winter.
Flysmallie Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 The square bills are good. Their WTD topwater works well. I don't like the finish on it but it works. I love their frogs, which others must too because they rarely have any on the shelf. It's good stuff.

cheesemaster Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 I have 1 cranking rod from H2O and 2 cranking rods from lews and I find myself using the H2O 4 out of 5 times.
J-Doc Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I've yet to fish with any but those rods feel great for the money. I've had probably 6 or 7. Broke 2 or 3. Academy always swaps them out for me for brand new ones so I can't complain! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!!
