merc1997 Bo Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 blade baits this time of year can be deadly on schooling bass. the smaller gay blades used to be a summer staple in this area and still work. it is just no one except me still has any. sonars and silver buddies are most often hard to find in the small sizes. the smaller size works better this time of the year because it matches the smaller shad in size. bo
Sore Thumbs Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 That's what I I was thinking. I bought one last week to give them a different look. Didn't use it much but I will keep it on for a while.
dtrs5kprs Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Even the bigger silver buddies have a little shorter profile than the sonar type. Good baits. Don't forget a Little George either.

It was always on a rod in the boat in the summer and late spring for him. I also like the smaller kastmaster with white tail for summer schooling bass. You can cast forever on light line, fish it on top, fish it under, even fish it vertical except you might need to move up in size if it's very deep... "I'm Haunted by Water"
