Looks like multiple scars from lamprey. It's a little early, but I am starting to catch trout with lamprey attached.

I caught one, about 16" that had a lamprey attached. It was years ago, but they are nasty look'n things!!

As soon as I took the trout out of the net, it let go and flopped back into the river.

Man - that is a nice brown!

Phil, temps below the dam reached 67 the other day. Hasn't slowed the bite too bad but takes a few minutes to revive the fish. That fish pictured above was only out of the water for 6 seconds or so and swam away shortly thereafter.

Ham, that fish had over a dozen lamprey sores on the other side. It's had a tough life no doubt.

I didn't recognize the marks... thought they were from high water temp. Our rainbows got them years ago during a flood gate event when the water was in the 70's.

I'm afraid we may have a very warm water fall season below our tailwaters because of the flood waters. May be Norfork isn't as bad as the White River Lakes. Hope not.

I caught 10 trout in one day with lampreys attached. In the fall, I'll usually catch multiple trout with lamprey attached.
