Codywskeeter1521 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 It would be fine if people weren't being lazy and rude. I was by myself and still took the time to unload and park the truck down the road. Some of these guys were 2 and 3 to a boat and still leaving their trucks and trailers in the way. Simple common courtesy goes a long way. No your not wrong. I use the other ramp when the water is high and park to the right over there. I have noticed the same thing when I'm down there. Can't fix stupid and how people think only for themselves. The world is full of these people.
skeeter Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 There's really nowhere for the water to go right now. The White and Arkansas rivers in east and south Arkansas are still very close to flood stage and releasing the water from Bull Shoals would cause a lot more crop damage than those farmers have already endured. The lower Mississippi is also 20 feet above normal for this time of year. These flood-control lakes are doing just what they are designed for. I'm well aware of the flat lands in Arkansas' "Grand Prarie" and how the slightest flood stage spreads out for miles but wasn't aware of the White and Arkansas still being close to flood stage. Must be a lot of "back-up" from the Mississippi not letting them drain faster. Marina owner told me the COE plan/forecast was for 917 by Labor Day barring any more widespread heavy rains.
