Al Agnew Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Just read this...don't know how I missed it before. I fish solo a lot, and I will admit that it could be considered selfish in a way. I go at my own pace, fish the way I want, and get first cast at all the good spots. I don't have to make conversation. But it is much more than that. I can also let the river speak to me with no distractions. I'm at one with the spirits of river and rock, and I'm in the place, both physically and spiritually, that I love most. trythisonemv Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 That's it right there Al . The real feeling of nature and peace inside. Nothing can contend with it except maybe my beautiful wife.
Old plug Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 You will sure catch more fish fishing alone and slow. I do not do it for the most part because my neighbor and I are both at the age where I do not think we could swim to the bank anymore. It is kind of a safety measure. But he is somewhat of a world traveler and when he is gone that's the way I do it. I am like wrench in that I like to use a lot of sneaking up and that is about impossible with 2 people in the boat. You would have to just about disregard the other fisherman and be rude.
Guest Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 There are times when I don't want any fishing company & it irritates the family members that I fish with. what they don't understand is that I'm going to be a grumpy a**hole anyway. so, I'm doing them a favor. sometimes a man needs to fish ALONE. Only then, do you have time for reflection on the past, clarity in the present time & guidance to the future.
