Tanderson15 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 how do the do it. I accidentally killed a armadillo and threw it in the woods behind my house. Very think woods, now they are flying in the woods and hopefully eating it. Question how did they find it, the canopy is very think? Sorry not fishing.
fishinwrench Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 They do the same with my fish guts that I toss down in the holler. Obviously they are equipped with super-sonic olfactory systems. The buzzards seem to find them quicker than the flys do.
mjk86 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Vultures use their sense of smell. They are very quick to detect organosulfur (carrion) compounds compared to most other creatures. One flew close enough....got a whiff, told his buddies, aaaannnnnnnddddd its gone.
