nomolites Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I would wager a fair amount that there are more cell phone related wrecks on the roadways resulting in injuries or fatalities than there ever have been that were alcohol related. States are way behind the curve legislating and enforcing limitations on this and getting the message to new drivers.
fishinwrench Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I hate to see nasty car crashes but I'm not for any more "legislating". You can take away liquor and take away mobile devices and people will still crash into each other just as often. Only difference is the lawyers wouldn't get fat as quickly.
nomolites Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Not a fan of stupid laws myself, we sure have plenty. Look around next time you are at a restaurant or in the store; what are people doing? They are doing the same thing while "driving" and it's getting to be a serious problem. I love my cell phone, just don't use it while I drive - don't read the paper either but I've seen that done more often than you would believe.... Mike
fishinwrench Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Well now wait a minute...... Maybe the reason everyone in the restaurants and grocery stores are jacking with their phones is because they are catching up on calls, emails, and texts that they couldn't answer earlier when they were driving. The ones in the restaurants that are NOT on their phones are likely the ones that text and drive.
